COOPER WEEK-TO-WEEK
Omar Cooper Jr. •WR • NYJ

Fantasy Impact
Omar Cooper Jr. is considered week-to-week after an MRI confirmed an ankle sprain suffered in the Jets’ Week 1 victory.
Cooper is not currently headed to injured reserve, and the hope is that he can return within four weeks. In the meantime, his absence creates additional opportunity in a Jets receiver room already dealing with injuries.
Garrett Wilson remains the unquestioned centerpiece, while Adonai Mitchell has a clearer path to additional work with Cooper unavailable.
Fantasy Action
Cooper should be held in deeper formats and dynasty leagues rather than dropped solely because of the injury. His current timeline does not suggest a long-term absence.
Mitchell deserves increased attention while Cooper is sidelined, particularly if his route participation and targets increase in Week 2.
Wilson’s fantasy status does not materially change, but Cooper’s absence further concentrates the available receiver opportunity around him and Mitchell.
Article Body
Cooper suffered the ankle injury during New York’s season-opening win over Tennessee. NFL Network reported after the MRI that the rookie receiver is week-to-week, with hope that he returns within the next four weeks.
He is not expected to play in Week 2, but the Jets are not currently placing him on injured reserve.
New York has also added veteran Sterling Shepard to the practice squad as the team addresses its receiver depth.
FAZE Take
This is an opportunity shift more than a long-term Cooper downgrade.
The rookie loses valuable early-season development time, but avoiding injured reserve keeps the door open for a relatively quick return.
Until then, Mitchell has the most interesting fantasy opportunity created by Cooper’s absence, while Wilson remains the foundation of the Jets passing game.
