This is the Tank Dell update we have been waiting for.

Dell participated in 11-on-11 team work Monday for the first time since the devastating knee injury he suffered in December 2024.

He even recorded his first reception during team drills as Houston continued gradually increasing his football workload.

That is a significantly different checkpoint from running routes individually.

Full pads mattered.

Individual routes mattered.

But team football is where a receiver has to react to coverage, traffic, timing and bodies moving around him.

Dell has finally crossed that line.

Houston is still controlling the return.

DeMeco Ryans has repeatedly made it clear that the Texans will not rush Dell after an injury that cost him the entire 2025 season.

Dell remains alongside Nico Collins in a receiving group built around C.J. Stroud.

Dell’s fantasy stock moves up.

Not because we should immediately project his old workload.

Because one of the biggest uncertainties attached to him has finally changed.

He is no longer simply rehabilitating.

He is playing football again.

Nico Collins remains Houston’s established WR1.

Dell does not need to challenge that status to matter.

His value comes from providing Stroud with a second receiver capable of separating, creating explosive plays and forcing defenses to defend something beyond Collins.

That can raise the ceiling of the entire passing game.

The next question becomes volume.

How many team repetitions does Dell receive?

How quickly does he move from a controlled package into ordinary offensive participation?

And does Houston trust him enough to handle regular contact throughout August?

Those are better questions than wondering whether he will ever get back onto the field.

This is the biggest positive movement in Dell’s recovery yet.

The phrase team drills changes the conversation.

We still should not pay as though his pre-injury role has already returned.

But fantasy managers can begin evaluating Dell as an actual 2026 football player rather than simply an injury stash.

The recovery has entered a new phase.

Christian McCaffrey did not practice Monday because of what San Francisco described as tightness.

The important context is that the 49ers characterized the move as precautionary.

McCaffrey is already operating on a planned camp rep count, and managing veteran workload is part of the team’s normal process.

Samuel does not need McCaffrey to miss games to receive rushing work.

If Samuel keeps receiving legitimate backfield work after McCaffrey returns to normal practice, then we have something actionable.

That would mean San Francisco is not simply bringing back an old receiver.

It is bringing back the full Deebo package.

J.K. Dobbins suffered a soft-tissue injury during Monday’s practice, creating another availability concern around a player whose career has repeatedly been interrupted by injuries.

Denver has not established a serious timeline yet.

That matters.

We should not automatically turn “soft tissue” into “multi-week absence.”

But Dobbins’ history makes this more relevant than the same report attached to an otherwise durable veteran.

We do not need Dobbins’ injury to be serious for the rest of Denver’s backfield to gain something.

Every first-team repetition Coleman receives matters.

Every expanded role for Harvey matters.

Every practice Dobbins misses gives Denver additional evidence about whether it can trust the younger backs.

Dobbins remains the most accomplished player in the room.

But fantasy managers drafting him must continue pricing in availability risk.

Coleman becomes increasingly interesting because his path does not require him to immediately become the starting running back.

If he earns goal-line work, physical early-down carries or a consistent rotational role, he can become independently useful.

If Dobbins misses meaningful time, that opportunity expands dramatically.

This is not a reason to declare Dobbins finished.

It is a reason to stop treating Denver’s backfield like a one-player room.

We already liked Coleman’s opportunity.

Now there is another reason to watch it.

The correct move is not to speculate about Dobbins’ diagnosis.

The correct move is to identify who gains repetitions while he is unavailable.

That player is Jonah Coleman.

Cleveland’s quarterback competition remains alive.

But Shedeur Sanders is receiving another meaningful opportunity to change it.

The Browns continue rotating Sanders and Deshaun Watson through first-team work, and Sanders again received significant work with the first-team offense Monday.

Cleveland is still evaluating the position rather than treating the current repetition split as a final starter declaration.

That distinction is important.

First-team reps are meaningful.

They are not the same thing as being named QB1.

There is also another fantasy-relevant development inside this story.

Rookie receiver Denzel Boston has moved into first-team work after repeatedly standing out during camp.

Cleveland selected Boston 39th overall, and his combination of size and repeated camp production has made him increasingly difficult to dismiss.

The quarterback winner matters because Cleveland suddenly has young receivers worth evaluating.

Boston is earning work.

KC Concepcion has generated positive camp attention.

Isaiah Bond remains involved.

A stable quarterback would give fantasy managers a much cleaner way to evaluate all of them.

Sanders’ fantasy appeal would also change dramatically if he wins the job.

He would move from deep dynasty and developmental status into legitimate late-round quarterback consideration because starting opportunity is the first requirement for everything else.

But we are not there yet.

The FAZE position should remain disciplined:

Do not declare a winner before Cleveland does.

What has changed is that Sanders continues getting chances with the first group — and Boston is increasingly looking like one of the players that quarterback may be throwing to.

This is becoming one of the NFL’s most interesting camp battles.

Not because Cleveland necessarily has an elite fantasy quarterback waiting to emerge.

Because the decision affects several inexpensive young players.

Sanders has an opportunity.

Watson still has an opportunity.

And Cleveland is finally putting enough young receiving talent around them that the winner could become fantasy relevant.

For now, the best investment may not be the quarterback.

It may be Boston.
