FAZE Take — Massive NFL Injury Update: Who’s Ready for Week 1, Who’s Not, and Who Fantasy Managers Need to Watch

🔴 RED
Significant Concern
Ashton Jeanty — RB, Raiders
Injury: Ankle sprain
Status: Week 1 uncertain
Jeanty’s injury initially looked frightening when he had to be helped from the practice field and could not put weight on his right leg.
The good news is that the injury is believed to be an ankle sprain rather than a season-threatening knee injury.
The concern is the lack of a firm timeline. Raiders coach Klint Kubiak said Jeanty is “on the mend,” but would not commit to his Week 1 availability or rule out injured reserve.
FAZE Take: Do not treat Jeanty like a healthy early-round running back until Las Vegas gives us something more concrete. If he misses time, rookie Mike Washington Jr. becomes immediately relevant.
Alvin Kamara — RB, Saints
Injury: MCL sprain
Status: Expected to miss Week 1
Kamara is dealing with an MCL sprain that carries a multi-week recovery window.
Week 1 appears highly unlikely, and there is a legitimate chance this absence extends beyond the opener.
FAZE Take: This injury has to be incorporated into Kamara’s draft price. The question is no longer whether he is healthy for Week 1. The question is how many early-season games fantasy managers may need to survive without him.
Jordyn Tyson — WR, Saints
Injury: Significant hamstring injury
Status: Expected to miss roughly two months
Tyson is facing one of the longest confirmed absences on this list.
The Saints’ first-round rookie is expected to miss approximately two months, putting his return somewhere around October. Opening the season on injured reserve remains possible.
FAZE Take: Tyson should fall dramatically in redraft leagues. He becomes a stash rather than a player fantasy managers can count on early in the season.

🟠 ORANGE
Monitor Closely
Kenneth Walker III — RB, Chiefs
Injury: Foot
Status: No firm timetable
Walker missed practice Tuesday because of a foot injury.
We do not yet have enough information to call this serious, but foot injuries involving running backs always deserve attention.
FAZE Take: Monitor closely. No major ranking adjustment yet, but Walker needs to return to practice before we give him a clean Week 1 outlook.
Jeremiyah Love — RB, Cardinals
Injury: High-ankle sprain
Status: Week 1 questionable / hopeful
Love will remain out of practice this week while recovering from a high-ankle sprain.
Arizona is still hopeful he will be available for the opener, but high-ankle sprains can linger even after a player is medically cleared.
FAZE Take: Week 1 remains possible, but this is not an injury we dismiss. Tyler Allgeier becomes especially important if Love cannot handle his normal workload.
TreVeyon Henderson — RB, Patriots
Injury: Ankle/foot issue
Status: Being evaluated
Henderson left practice after slipping and New England has been cautious with him since.
Early indications have not pointed toward a major injury, but he has not yet given fantasy managers the full-clear signal.
FAZE Take: Monitor rather than downgrade aggressively. A return to normal practice would quickly move him back toward green.
Mike Evans — WR, 49ers
Injury: Groin
Status: Week 1 still expected, but watch closely
Evans missed practice with a groin issue after already dealing with lower-body problems during camp.
San Francisco appears to be prioritizing having him available for Week 1 rather than pushing him through preseason work.
FAZE Take: The expectation remains that Evans will play, but repeated lower-body injuries are enough to keep him out of the green tier for now.
Keon Coleman — WR, Bills
Injury: Foot/toe sprain
Status: Week 1 uncertain
Coleman was placed in a walking boot after suffering a foot/toe sprain.
Buffalo initially did not sound overly concerned, but the boot makes this something fantasy managers should continue watching.
FAZE Take: No panic yet, but Coleman needs to get out of the boot and return to football activity before we call him Week 1 ready.
Puka Nacua — WR, Rams
Injury: Groin
Status: Monitor
Nacua left a joint practice earlier this month because of a groin injury.
There has not been evidence to this point that it is expected to threaten a significant portion of the regular season, but soft-tissue injuries involving an elite receiver deserve continued monitoring.
FAZE Take: Puka remains an elite fantasy asset. We are not making a major ranking move based on what we know today, but we want confirmation that the groin is fully behind him before Week 1.

🟡 YELLOW
Trending Toward Week 1
Breece Hall — RB, Jets
Injury: Groin strain
Status: Expected Week 1
Hall was given an estimated two-to-three-week recovery window.
The Jets have indicated they expect him to be ready for the regular-season opener.
FAZE Take: Trending positively. Unless he suffers a setback, Hall should remain valued as a Week 1 starter.
Tyler Warren — TE, Colts
Injury: Groin
Status: Projected Week 1
Warren’s groin injury was expected to cost him approximately one week, and Indianapolis may simply keep him out of practice longer as a precaution.
He is still expected to be ready for the opener.
FAZE Take: Minor concern. Do not move Warren significantly unless his Week 1 projection changes.
Alec Pierce — WR, Colts
Injury: Ankle
Status: Trending toward return
Pierce has missed significant camp time because of the ankle, but Indianapolis expects him to return to practice.
FAZE Take: The lack of camp work matters, but the trajectory is improving. His actual return to practice is the checkpoint we want to see.
Sam LaPorta — TE, Lions
Injury: Hip
Status: Improving
LaPorta’s Week 1 status became uncertain after his hip issue flared up.
The overall trajectory has improved, but Detroit has been cautious.
FAZE Take: We are much more comfortable than we were when the injury first surfaced, but continue watching his workload as the opener approaches.

🟢 GREEN
On Track
Christian McCaffrey — RB, 49ers
Status: On track for Week 1
McCaffrey’s extended absence from practice created understandable concern, but he has returned.
McCaffrey and the 49ers have indicated that the practice management was planned rather than the result of a new major injury.
FAZE Take: At this point, McCaffrey should be treated as on track for Week 1. The injury history still matters when evaluating overall season-long risk, but his current availability is trending green.
Patrick Mahomes — QB, Chiefs
Injury: Returning from ACL surgery
Status: On track for Week 1
Mahomes continues to hit his rehabilitation checkpoints and says he feels better as camp progresses.
He remains on track to start Week 1.
FAZE Take: This has become one of the most encouraging recoveries of camp. Unless something changes medically, Mahomes should be drafted with the expectation that he starts the opener.
George Kittle — TE, 49ers
Injury: Achilles recovery
Status: Activated from PUP
Kittle has officially been activated from the physically unable to perform list.
That move is significant because remaining on PUP through roster cutdowns would have forced him to miss at least the opening portion of the season.
FAZE Take: Major positive development. Week 1 is now legitimately in play.
Malik Nabers — WR, Giants
Injury: ACL recovery
Status: Trending strongly toward Week 1
Nabers has steadily increased his football activity during camp and has progressed into team work.
FAZE Take: The rehab trajectory is highly encouraging. He still carries normal post-ACL risk, but availability for Week 1 is looking increasingly realistic.
Ja’Marr Chase — WR, Bengals
Injury: Knee hyperextension
Status: Minor scare
Chase left practice after hyperextending his knee, but afterward indicated that he was fine.
There has been no indication of a significant injury.
FAZE Take: No ranking change. Verify that normal practice participation resumes and move on.
Brian Thomas Jr. — WR, Jaguars
Injury: Shoulder
Status: Expected Week 1
Thomas suffered a shoulder scare in practice, but Jacksonville quickly indicated that he was all right.
The Jaguars may simply protect him until Week 1.
FAZE Take: No meaningful fantasy downgrade at this time.
Jonathon Brooks — RB, Panthers
Injury: ACL recovery
Status: Cleared and playing
Brooks has progressed from rehabilitation into actual football participation.
At this point, the larger fantasy question is no longer whether he can play. It is how large his role will be.
FAZE Take: Remove the immediate availability concern. Evaluate Brooks based on workload and price rather than fear that he cannot get on the field.

⚫ OUT
Jaden Higgins — WR, Texans
Injury: Torn ACL
Status: Out for the season
Higgins will not play in 2026.
FAZE Take: Remove him from redraft consideration and redistribute Houston’s available receiver opportunities.

FAZE BOTTOM LINE
FAZE Bottom Line
There are three different types of injury situations fantasy managers need to separate right now.
Jeanty, Kamara and Tyson can materially affect draft strategy because their availability is either uncertain or already compromised.
Players like Kenneth Walker, Jeremiyah Love, TreVeyon Henderson, Mike Evans, Keon Coleman and Puka Nacua belong in the monitoring tier. These are not automatic fades, but their next practice or medical update matters.
Then there is the encouraging group: McCaffrey, Mahomes, Kittle, Nabers, Breece Hall, LaPorta, Tyler Warren and others are either progressing toward Week 1 or have already cleared major rehab checkpoints.
The mistake fantasy managers make is treating every injury the same.
Don’t.
A player missing a controlled August practice is not the same thing as a player with no return timetable. A player coming off PUP is not the same thing as someone potentially headed toward IR.
Draft the player — but price the risk.
